Eben Alexander & Karen Newell
Speakers, Authors, Founders
After decades as a physician and teacher at Harvard Medical School and elsewhere, renowned academic neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexander thought he knew how the brain, mind, and consciousness worked. A transcendental Near-Death Experience (NDE) during a week-long coma from an inexplicable brain infection changed all of that – completely. Memories of his life had been completely deleted, yet he awoke with memories of a fantastic odyssey deep into another realm – more real than this earthly one!
Since his 2008 NDE he has been reconciling his rich spiritual experience with contemporary physics and cosmology. We are conscious in spite of our brain. By probing deeply into our own consciousness, we transcend the limits of the human brain, and of the physical-material realm. His story offers a crucial key to the understanding of reality and human consciousness.
A pioneering scientist and thought leader in consciousness studies, Dr. Alexander has been a guest on Dr. Oz, Oprah, and many other media programs. His most recent book, Living in a Mindful Universe: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Heart of Consciousness (co-authored with Karen Newell), has garnered accolades from many scientists around the world who study the mind-body question and the nature of consciousness. His earlier books, Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife and The Map of Heaven: How Science, Religion, and Ordinary People Are Proving the Afterlife, have collectively spent more than two years atop the New York Times and international bestseller lists. www.ebenalexander.com
As an innovator in the emerging field of brainwave entrainment audio meditation, Karen Newell, co-founder of Sacred Acoustics, empowers others in their journeys of self-discovery. Using Sacred Acoustics recordings, she teaches how to connect to inner guidance, achieve inspiration, improve wellness and develop intuition.
In her search for answers to fundamental questions, it became clear that direct experience is crucial to full understanding. To bolster her strong sense of inner knowing and alignment with her higher nature, she enrolled in a series of hands-on experiential courses to investigate and develop such skills as lucid dreaming, astral travel, telepathy, remote viewing, self-hypnosis, and different forms of energy healing.
She developed a facile expertise in living through daily connection with universal consciousness using heart awareness as a central element. At international workshops presented with best-selling author Dr. Eben Alexander, Karen demonstrates key practices of consciousness exploration: heart awareness, intention, maintaining neutrality, emotional management and cultivating internal knowing. She is co-author with Dr. Alexander of their latest book, Living in a Mindful Universe: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Heart of Consciousness.

Rob Gierke
Global Citizen, Business Educatior, Coach
My true purpose is to drive consciousness development and to help businesses make a positive impact globally. Being a global citizen, having a business background and speaking 6 languages I want to contribute to dignified life in the world.
I was born in East Germany in 1977 and grew up in the city of Jena. Until the age of 12 I experienced the experiment socialism-communism. While religion did not play a role in my family I was raised on humanistic values. I learned Russian as my first foreign language and attended an elite sports school. As I grew up in this political-economic system I saw first hand how businesses operated in context of the rigid paradigm. I also witnessed the effects on people and the environment. In 1989 the Berlin wall fell and Germany was reunited in October 1990. An entire new world opened up for me. I graduated from high school and went on to study Business Administration. I finished my college degree in Arizona where I moved in 1998 at Northern Arizona University. After a first work experience in the San Francisco Bay Area I returned to Northern Arizona University in 2000 to attend the MBA program. I graduated with an MBA degree with emphasis in international marketing and finance in 2001. In the same year I joined the Salt Lake Organising Committee to stage the 2002 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Salt Lake City. During this experience I really took the humane Olympic values in. In spring 2002 I returned to Germany and started a 14 year career at global sports brand adidas where I worked in various positions within global marketing and finance. Working for a global brand and leading a team which was located around the world gave me global exposure. During the many business trips I did not only get to see the market places and consumers in the various countries, but also got to experience the social and environmental problems around the globe. At adidas I met many very inspirational purpose-driven people some of whom have become lifetime friends. I also volunteered for adidas' own foundation "adidas fund" in the favelas of Brazil working with youth to teach positive values on the basis of sports. Grateful for all the experiences and learnings I could gain I left adidas in 2016 in good terms to pursue my life's purpose. At the end of 2016 I served several weeks as a volunteer in one of the largest refugee camps in Lesbos, Greece where thousands of refugees who fled from the IS war and the crises in Africa live in inhumane conditions. This profound and very humbling experience has strengthened my intent to leverage my skills to create more dignity in the world. I am also greatly concerned about the destruction of ecosystems. The polar bear has become the tragic symbol of global warming. I love nature and I love polar bears. I am fully committed to do what is necessary to protect mother Earth as I deeply believe that economy is only a subset of ecology.
I strongly believe in the consciousness development of people. Therefore, I trust that businesses will transform our world positively and that the 17 UN sustainable development goals will be achieved. I am part of this journey and serving this transformative process is my personal purpose. With great passion I guide businesses to find and act out their own true purpose which fosters dignified life in the world.

Suzanne Hubbard
Artist
I grew up with the perspective, conscious evolution. In fact, I am as old as the worldview is new. In the background of my childhood, while I was playing with horses in my room, my parents Barbara Marx Hubbard and Earl Wade Hubbard were seeking answers to questions such as, what is a deeper human purpose and what is the significance of all that is humanly possible? They came up with three answers which have remained fertile in my mind. We can choose conscious evolution for what is humanly possible to have peaceful purposes. They believed a characteristic of being human is the potential to become universal self-conscious. I personally connected the dots with this potential and responding as how evolution can co-evolve with our species. Conscious evolution greatly influenced my relationship with three important areas of my life, being an artist, mother, and gardener. I pursued tapestry weaving and over the course of 45 years I have woven many commissions, shown in galleries and museums, taught weaving, and exhibited rugs in decorator show houses. I never considered making art a career, however. Weaving, teaching, living the life of an artist, and contemplative writing are processes which involve cyclic and whole-oriented rhythms of integration and reintegration as do mothering and gardening. Their unifying behavior patterns communicate universal self-awareness as well as a tactility which (manually) manifests expressions of life’s / our indigenous qualities of wholeness. I realized a universal self-perspective, which relates by becoming a personal expression, could transform a deeply divided world. We have become even more polarized from the effects of the pandemic and with the killing of African American George Floyd. This is a seminal event because it revealed all dominant perspectives are implicitly biased. At the same time COVID-19 struck in early 2020, I completed The Unwritten Book and Your LifeBook Journal: An Organic Personal Conscious Evolution. The book has taken a quarter of a century to write, because coevolving with Nature has never been considered human work. I am supporting unbiased and integrative (conscious evolutionary) seeing, being, and becoming (universal-self) expressive of who we truly are. The immense suffering of unemployment today reflects an early human decision to separate from a world of mutual sustainability.

Light is my first contact with the environment. Throughout my life she has guided me and dominated my sensations.
Shadow preceded me until that last moment just before my birth.
The appearance of things, of forms, is a fact of light. Its absence destroys all visual perception we may have of the object. Light makes one see but mostly, it makes one think.
Its variations and modulations travel the hours, the days, the seasons, the climates — all participating intimately in my joy, as in my sorrow.
To enlighten is to illuminate...or better yet, to luminate. To shed light. It is also to emote. And Life is cradled only by shadows and light.

Helena Lindemark
Founder & CEO of Sustainable Development Sweden AB and the founder and Chairperson of the 2022 Initiative Foundation. Her focus on sustainable development started in 1991 as Programme Officer and head of the United Nations Capital Development Fund’s office in Bolivia. She has also worked at FAO, the EU, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida, former SIDA) and within both private companies and Civil Society Organisations (CSO) for several years.
Helena has a talent for seeing the big picture and for turning problems into opportunities. She has extensive experience as speaker, trainer, coach and workshop facilitator in relation to sustainable development. Participants have mainly been leaders and specialists from ministries, authorities and private organisations from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. She has also been involved in several projects, programmes and plans as expert on Impact Assessment (IA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
During the last few years her focus has primarily been on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda with a holistic perspective, based on the need to focus on environmental and climate issues for the survival of future generations on Planet Earth. As representative of Globetree, a CSO accredited to both UN Environment and UN ECOSOC, she is also engaged in UN meetings and consultations since September 2019.
Sustainable Development Sweden AB was formed with the purpose to accelerate sustainable development in Sweden and internationally, based on the fact that Sweden is often seen as a role model within sustainability. To match the purpose, Helena initiated the potentially global project “the 2022 Initiative” in 2014, and founded the non- profit 2022 Initiative Foundation in 2017. The foundation is today a member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and was launched internationally during the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2020. To a large extent thanks to Helena’s efforts in relation to the 2022 Initiative, the Swedish Government has proposed a UN Conference in Stockholm in 2022, 50 years after the first UN Conference on Sustainable Development was held in Stockholm in 1972. 2022 is also halfway to 2030 since the agreements on the 2030 Agenda and the climate in 2015. An important part of the idea behind the 2022 Initiative is to accelerate sustainability by adding milestones to the 2030 Agenda, to facilitate action from today’s leaders on the long-term SDGs.
Within Sustainable Development Sweden, Helena is also involved in the development of a digital tool, simplifying the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, based on a holistic perspective, and facilitating a process for Impact Assessment, development of sustainability strategies, plans and actions to reach the SDGs.
Helena Lindemark has a degree of M.Sc. in international Business Administration and Economics, complemented with Environmental Economics. Swedish is her mother tongue and she is fluent in English and Spanish.

Bruce Lipton
An internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.
Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in 1973. Dr. Lipton’s research on muscular dystrophy, studies employing cloned human stem cells, focused upon the molecular mechanisms controlling cell behavior. An experimental tissue transplantation technique developed by Dr. Lipton and colleague Dr. Ed Schultz and published in the journal Science was subsequently employed as a novel form of human genetic engineering.
In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics. Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.
Dr. Lipton’s novel scientific approach transformed his personal life as well. His deepened understanding of cell biology highlighted the mechanisms by which the mind controls bodily functions, and implied the existence of an immortal spirit. He applied this science to his personal biology, and discovered that his physical well-being improved, and the quality and character of his daily life was greatly enhanced.
Dr. Lipton has taken his award-winning medical school lectures to the public and is currently a sought after keynote speaker and workshop presenter. He lectures to conventional and complementary medical professionals and lay audiences about leading-edge science and how it dovetails with mind-body medicine and spiritual principles. He has been heartened by anecdotal reports from hundreds of former audience members who have improved their spiritual, physical and mental well being by applying the principles he discusses in his lectures. He is regarded as one of the leading voices of the new biology.
Dr Lipton’s work summarizing his findings, entitled, The new updated 10th Anniversary Edition of The Biology of Belief, (Hay House Publishing, softcover, ISBN 978-1-4019-4891-7). His second book, Spontaneous Evolution, Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There From Here. (Hay House Publishing, ISBN 978-1-4019-2580-2) and his third book, The Honeymoon Effect, The Science of Creating Heaven on Earth. (Hay House Publishing, ISBN 978-1-4019-2386-0)

Dena Merriam
A long-time meditation practitioner in the lineage of Kriya Yoga. She came in contact with her guru Paramhansa Yogananda at the age of 20, long after he had left his physical form, and devoted many years to practicing his teachings and studying the texts of the ancient Vedic tradition. During her years of meditation, many vivid memories of past births began to emerge, revealing an intricate and subtle patten of cause and effect, the law of karmic unfolding. These memories became the subject of her books. The purpose of sharing these intimate stories was to help people see the long arch of their life, whether they retain memories or not, to help overcome fear and anxiety about death, to understand more fully the workings of cause and effect and to know that each one of us, moment to moment, is creating the blueprint for our future. Her first book My Journey through Time: A Spiritual Memoir of Life, Death and Rebirth takes Dena on a journey back through seven consecutive lives, revealing the intricate patterns that emerge as one life leads into another, picking up and furthering themes initiated at an earlier time. Her second book The Untold Story of Sita: An Empowering Tale for our Time takes the reader back to a much earlier age, several thousand years b.c.e. to a pre-patriarchal era when humanity had not fully separated itself from the natural world. There are many messages from that time that are particularly relevant today. A third book called When the Bright Moon Rises: Awakening Ancient Memories will be released in the fall of 2020. A fourth book is also in the works: The Seeds of Satya Yuga recounts memories of a life in a far higher age and how events in that life effected subsequent births, carving a path for the soul’s awakening. Dena’s story is the story of each one of us, of course with much variation. The history of each one of us is filled with patterns and interweavings, that unfolding of so many events, the birth and fulfillment of desires and aspirations, loss and gain, all of which have made us who we are today. While on her own spiritual journey of awakening, Dena has been active in the public sphere. Having founded the non-profit organization The Global Peace Initiative of Women in 2002, she has worked to bring spiritual voices to address global challenges. She has spoken in many forums on the need for a shift in consciousness if we are to address successfully ecological decline, economic and gender imbalance, climate instability, violence and other critical issues. Before writing about her own spiritual experiences, Dena wrote about art and spirituality, publishing a number of books on contemporary artists and for some years editing the magazine Sculpture Review. She received her Master’s Degree from Columbia University, has served on numerous boards and in 2014 received the Niwano Peace Prize for her international work.

Among the researches on coherence, one of the most important discoveries has been that the empathy between peoples is positively correlated to the electroencephalographic coherence recorded between the same eeg points of the brains of a couple or of a group. The interpersonal electroencephalographic coherence seem to be a measure of the empathic communication level, to highlight the psychosomatics blocks and the intracerebral lack or excess of communication.
